Shookrah, an 8-piece, female-fronted, prog-soul ensemble from Cork.
The four-track EP, ‘Implicit Content’, is a follow up to their insanely catchy, anthemic single W O M A N and showcases the band’s potential as a funky force to be reckoned with.
‘Implicit Content’ will charm your socks off and have you dancing through bursts of pop effervescence, playful funk and soulful rhythms that cut through the group’s sweet use of melodies and harmonies.
Lead singer Senita has already collaborated with Daithi (Case Closed and Golden Bush) and fellow Corkonian Stevie G, as well as featuring on Le Galaxie’s new album ‘Tell Me Twice’.
That experience, along with hints of Erykah Badu, Janelle Moane and D’Angelo in the group’s sound gives Shookrah a charged and soulful energy that belies their tender years.
The band are set to release their debut EP ‘Implicit Content’ on October 13 through iTunes, Google Play, Amazon and Spotify but you can catch an advance streaming through Goldenplec right now.
