Arthurs Day at The Grand Social | In Photos
TweetSo we have four TV venues in Dublin. The Grand Social has fast become one of the nicest small venues to host gigs with around 200-250 people.
So if you were in The Grand Social on Thursday night, you were probably witness to The Kassidy’s opening the show to a sparse crowd, our home grown rock n rollers The Minutes hitting the speakers hard and filling the venue. Jake Bugg throwing out his folk / country rock including his two hit singles, which was well received by the crowd, but it was the rock monoliths Primal Scream playing in The Grand Social providing a larger than life and louder than you would think the speakers could handle show.
It was hard and fast, with 8 tracks from across their amazing catalog finishing with the expect Rocks and it was a unique once off show never likely to be witnessed again. Possibly only bettered by them appearing in The Silver Granite earlier that evening.
Our photographer Sean Smyth was down the front snapping each of the acts from The Minutes onwards on the night. Were you down The Grand Social on Thursday. How did you find it?
