DONATIONS! -> Tea and Toast MyCharity Page

If you donate €5 or more and leave a guess of how long it will take us to get from coast to coast in HH:MM:SS, the closest guess above or below will in a Sony Ericsson Live courtesy of Meteor.

Follow the event on Facebook and Twitter accounts on the day.

Meteor [site] and Johnston Mooney and O’Brien [site]  and Lyons Tea [site]have agree to join us as corporate sponsors. Meteor will be making a donation on the day and providing us with dongles and sim’s to keep us connected throughout the day. Johnston Mooney and O’Brien have agreed to be our official bread sponsor, to ensure we have fresh, delicious bread of all varieties throughout the day. Lyons Tea have agreed to ensure that there is no silence on the drive by putting the talk in our tea and giving us a good variety of their blends. Can’t wait to hit the girl talk.

We also today can announce that our big finale will be hosted by the kind people at the Malahide Yacht club. They have kindly offered up their premises on the day so we can host a load of bands for our big finale and share some tea and toast with them.

Yes Uncle Sam is pointing at you. Goldenplec is organising a charity event to raise money for Down Syndrome Ireland and is looking to meet a band in every county passed through on the route. We are going to be driving from Portmarnock to Achill and back and want bands to meet us for a one song gig as we go. The route is below along with a rough anticipated time of arrival in each location. They will be looking for a band who can be at that location around that time on Good Friday (April 6th) to meet us for a 10 minute stop where we will have tea and toast and the band will play a cutback song for us either in the back of the car out from the boot. It’s very much guerilla gigging. There won’t be any power, just yourselves, your instruments and your voice. No messing.

We will be recording each performance and sharing it on Youtube / Twitter / Facebook on the day so it is a great chance for a band to introduce themselves to a captive audience or get word out about gigs or album/EP releases planned.

We need bands at the following locations and times. We are open to modifying the location of meeting slightly (the band can discuss with us).  If you think you can make any of the following locations please contact admin@goldenplec.com – The final location at 7.30pm – 8pm (roughly) in Dublin we would like as many bands as possible. We hope to confirm a hotel function room and fit in a load of bands from Dublin right at the end and get everyone some tea and toast and have some lovely one song gigs from each band who appears. So we would love to hear from lots of Dublin bands, new and established to make the finale a party atmosphere.
