Today on the Rick O’Shea show on RTE 2FM, the first listen to the Eurosong 2014 entrants, all looking to represent Ireland at the Eurovision 2014 in Copenhagen were unveiled. These five songs will face off on the RTE Late Late Show on February 28th 2014 for the slot.
The Eurovision Semi-Finals are set to take place on May 6th and May 8th in Copenhagen, Denmark. Ireland will compete in the second Semi-Final. The Final takes place on Saturday May 10th.
Here are the five entries to the Eurosong competition 2014. What do you think? What is our best foot forward? For us, the first two songs are a big soft to land as memorable at Eurovision (Patricia Roe, Eoghan Quigg), Can-Linn is more in-line with a lot of Eurovision style tracks recently, but does that mean it will be lost on the night. Andrew Mann’s song give us Nickleback vibes, rock songs tend to struggle at Eurovision though. Finally the Laura O’Neill song is a little bland.
For us we’d probably edge towards Can-Linn with maybe Patricia Roe and Andrew Mann in the running.
