Courtesy of Wide Open Opera, Irish composer Brian Irvine and librettist John McIlduff, Dublin’s streets will be treated to some performances of five short operas. Based on everyday lives – its conflicts, celebrations, and objects – the operas offer a surreal commentary on life. The five operas are Suck It In, It’s Your Round, Drive By Shooting, I Just Sell My Bananas, and Ironing Board.
Wide Open Opera have been kind enough to post the timing of each of today’s performances on their website ( wideopenopera.ie ). However, if you do miss today’s performances, there will be a performance of all five short operas tomorrow (Saturday July 5th) in Dame Court, Dublin 2, tomorrow at 7pm.
