Groove Armada

Why? Electronic powerhouses Groove Armada make a welcome to Irish shores at this years Life Festival. With anthems like ‘Superstylin’ and ‘I See You Baby’ as well as 8 albums of material to choose from a great set can be expected. Do yourself a favour. Don’t miss them.

Zaska

Why? Blending funk, soul and rap, Max Zaska may appear to be a bit of a musical magpie on paper. But once his band kicks off and that strange and beautiful music begins to flow forth it seems like the most natural thing in the world. Recently launched Zaska’s “In Your Own Sweet Time EP” is one of the most original and exciting song collections to be released on this island in recent times. Miss this band at your peril.

Jamie XX

Why? Jamie XX, best known for his work with London based group The Xx, will take to the RBMA Stage on Saturday night. The award winning producer is a must see act at the festival. Having remixed everything from Radiohead to Alicia Keys he is sure to draw a huge crowd down in Westmeath.

Hot Sprockets

Why? The Hot Sprockets are bringing their energetic and wild set to Life. The Sprockets are a mixture of old school rock with delta blues influences. After an incredible set at Vantastival we can only recommend you get down to the Main Stage on Saturday to catch them.

Booka Brass

Why?In terms of repertoire, Dublin’s Booka Brass Band don’t care who wrote or originally sang any of their songs, all that matters is how it sounds when blared through a trombone. They killed at their Button Factory headliner earlier this year, confirming their place as one of Ireland’s top live acts, and their Beyonce remains as convincing as their Hypnotic Brass Ensemble.

Nina Kraviz

Why? Nina hails from Siberia and turned her back on a career in dentistry for a life in the music industry and we’re glad she did. Nina is best known for her somewhat haunting, trancy, deep bass tunes. Make sure you catch on the RBMA Stage on Friday night.

RSAG

Why? RSAG i.e Rarely Seen Above Ground is one man force Jeremey Hickey. He experiments with drums, percussion and vocals, which amalgamate into one explosive set. RSAG is also known for having enchanting visuals during live sets. Make sure you head to the Main Stage on Sunday.

Four Tet

Why? With inspirations ranging from jazz and folk music to techno and grime Four Tet is the perfect act to close out the festivities on Sunday. The critically acclaimed musician is sure to keep the crowd going well into the night.

Ben Klock

Why? Ben has been a prominent figure on the Berlin DJ scene over the last decade, with a residency in Berghain, where he has become one of Ostgut’s big hitters. His hypnotic sets have earned him the reputation as one of the best live dance artists in the industry.

Sounds like:

Raglans

Why? Incapable of underperforming, Raglans’ unique brand of chant-heavy percussive pop-rock belongs on any stage from which live music can be performed. With the energetic chord progressions that turn a small venue into a sweat-box and the choruses that turn a large one into a swaying mass of “oohs” and “aahs”, Raglans always get the job done.
