GoldenPlec at KnockanStockan

After a magical weekend at KnockanStockan 2013, GoldenPlec is delighted to be heading down to the Blessington Lakes once more as their official media partner.

We have compiled a handy guide with the site map, timetable, bus times and a list of acts you have to catch while you are at the festival.

GoldenPlec will also be hosting some of Ireland’s most talented musicians at the Faerie Stage on Friday and Saturday. Pop down and say hello!

Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter and Facebook to keep up to date with what’s happening on site over the weekend.

Don’t forget…

  • Sun cream
  • Mosquito repellant
  • Baby wipes, hand disinfectant, toilet roll and tissues
  • Unlike most festivals, the wonderful folk at Knockanstockan allow ticket holders to bring drink into the all areas so stock up on bags of cans for the weekend.
  • Festival goers have been asked by the Garda Síochána not to walk between the car park and the festival site. There will be shuttle buses to bring drivers back to their cars should you need to get anything. The last run will be made late at night for those that need to drive home.

Plec Picks on the Faerie Stage

Selecting only five must see acts from our wonderful Faerie Stage line up proved rather challenging but after much hair pulling and bellyaching, here are five acts you can’t miss on the Faerie Stage over the weekend.

For recommendations of acts on other stages check out our Top 10 Plec Picks for KnockanStockan

1. Booka Brass Band
Having impressed festival goers at Life, Longitude and Glastonbury with foot stomping horns and fabulous covers, we are terribly excited to have the funky, energetic Booka Brass Band headline our stage on Saturday night. Bring your dancing shoes.

2. Wyvern Lingo
GoldenPlec has been a long time supporter of the Wyvern Lingo gals and we are pleased as punch to welcome them back to Knockanstockan. Expect goosebump inducing harmonies and mesmerizing tunes that will linger long after the gig.

3. Liza Flume
Fresh from a nationwide tour with We Cut Corners, Liza will be bringing her husky, delicate vocals, loop pedals and spellbinding set to the Faerie Stage. Don’t miss Ms Flume in action.

Make sure to check out Conor Linnie, who will also be playing the Faerie Stage. Here is a GoldenPlec video with Liza from KnockanStockan 2013.

4. Mongoose
The Mongoose ladies have been hard at work gigging over the last few months and their following is constantly growing. Make sure to catch this band for some smooth as honey vocals, laugh out loud onstage banter and the odd cheeky cover. We’re hoping for a repeat of Kylie Minogue’s ‘Spinning Around’.

5. Zaska
Zaska have steadily built up a reputation as one of the best live bands on the Dublin gig circuit. The eight piece soul-funk-rap band will put a smile on your face and keep you dancing for the duration of their upbeat set.
