So you love your Irish music, you’ve got your Vantastival ticket and you’re heading down for a weekend of fun and games in Bellurgan Park, Co. Louth. Well you’re impressing us already!
We are stupidly excited and proud to announce our partnership with the lovely people at Vantastival. As you can read here and here and here, we have been huge fans of this small festival that champions our great Irish music scene. We also would like to announce that for the festival, we have joined forces with RetroCampers.ie and The Spirit Store also – but we’ll go into more detail on that below.
So here we go, here is what we’ll be doing at Vantastival 2014:
GoldenPlec Unplugged Stage at Vantastibar (in association with The Spirit Store)
We are excited to bring you our own stage at a festival. Isn’t that just grand? For this, we’ve teamed up with the people at one of our favourite venues in the country (The Spirit Store) and the guys at The Vantastibar. We’ll be located in the snug surroundings of the one and only full bar at the festival; so you can sit back with a roof over your head and listen to the best acoustic rumblings that the festival and the Irish music scene has to offer.
GoldenPlec AfterDark at the Vanhalla Stage
Not content with just having our own stage, we sat down with the lovely people at Vantastival and came up with the idea of having GoldenPlec AfterDark at the Vanhalla Stage. What this entails is GoldenPlec bringing you well into the night with the best late nights acts around; sending you off in to the night with a smile on your face and a sore arm from throwing shapes. This will all take place on the famous Vanhalla stage (one of the most special wooden stages at any festival in the country) from 1am onwards. Acts include: The Swedish Railway Orchestra (Friday), DJ Sophis D Kate (Saturday) and Drums N Decks – aka RSAG and The Kilo 1977 (Sunday).
GoldenPlec & RetroCampers.ie – “Any VW Vans for the lads?”
We’ve been going to Vantastival for the last four years and each time without fail, we have always joined the smaller tent campsite. As we sat there on our broken chair, we frequently gazed over at the vintage campers and shed a tear as we gazed upon on the mucky ball of plastic we called a bed. So this year, we wanted to do VANtastival as it should be done. So, we got in touch with the lovely people over at RetroCampers.ie and we rented out one of these dreams on wheels for the weekend – we even got to pick the colour (we went for GoldenPlec organge of course). We ended up picking Ollie (there is a whole family of VW vans here) and the whole thing is decked out just perfect – a proper vintage VW with all the original trimmings.
