GoldenPlec.com presents….
Coast to Coast: Tea and Toast. Our cross-country charity promotional event pairs promoting Irish bands with raising money for Down Syndrome Ireland, culminating with a finale gig in Whelan’s Dublin on March 30th 2013.

So what is Coast to Coast: Tea and Toast? Team Goldenplec crosses the country, Coast to Coast from Dublin to Galway on Good Friday 29th March meeting a band in every county we pass through for a cup of Barry’s Tea, a slice of Johnston Mooney and O’Brien toast and a one song gig recorded on Nokia Lumia 920 phones.

These videos are uploaded via our Meteor internet dongles to Goldenplec.com with click to donate links provided. We’ll be using scenic locations such as Bunratty Castle for video shoots. Each donation of €5 or more will automatically be entered into a competition to win prizes including Nokia Lumia 920 phones, some gig tickets and some tea and bread hampers.

We return to Dublin leaving Galway on Saturday 30th March stopping at Ennis and Limerick, before heading back to Dublin (see route stop locations below). We will be finishing with a finale showcase in Whelan’s featuring some of our favourite bands. Our transport for the event has been provided courtesy of Avis Car Rentals.

The National Concert Hall will be playing host to Dublin bands such as Leanne Harte, CPNHGN, Crow Black Chicken and more for one song videos on Friday 29th March with one song video shoots taking place in Whelan’s and the surrounding areas on Saturday 30th March prior to the finale show with the assistance of 45sound.

The finale show…

Shadowplay
Shadowplay are the winners of the prestigious Hot Press Lift Off competition in 2012. Having secured a major international multi-album deal, the band have spent much of late 2012 writing new material and preparing for their much-anticipated launch later this year. A rare sighting on the current gig circuit, we are delighted to have them join us for our finale gig. Andrew Dempsey, the bands lead singer, was clear on the bands reasons for being so keen to play. “GoldenPlec have been such great supporters of us from the very early days of the band, just as they are to so many young Irish bands every day, we were happy to do whatever we could to be part of Coast to Coast.”

Elaine Mai
This Galway girl has moved up to Dublin and we expect her to make some big waves this year. She is currently finishing off writing her new EP which will be coming out in the next few months. We’ve been told there will be some new material for us to enjoy at our gig, so head on down for a sneak-peak at the next batch of Elaine Mai material.

The Dirty 9s
The gentle and unassuming sound these guys produce made them one of our picks to play for us on the night. The lads have been recording their new album, currently putting the final touches on it in Dublin with Karl Odlum (Ham Sandwich, Fight Like Apes). The album is expected in the fall and they promise some big announcements and changes soon. The new material is quite different to their previous stuff and you’ll be hearing the new material exclusively first at Coast to Coast: Tea and Toast on March 30th.
