As we reach the end of 2012 it’s always nice to have something to look forward to in the new year, and today Aiken Promotions have offered us just that with their announcement of some acts to play the Marquee in Cork in the summer of 2013.
Master of all things music, Sir Elton John is no stranger to any living person at this stage, being one of the world’s top selling solo artists. Bringing his greatest hits tour to Ireland along with his band, Elton will be performing two hours of music from his back catalogue on June 23rd 2013. Tickets go on sale Friday December 14th at 9am. Tickets are priced at €50.00 – €95.00
Making their first ever appearance at Live at the Marquee, Elvis Costello & The Imposters take the stage on June 26th 2013. Costello was named The Rolling Stone’s Greatest Artist of all time in 2004 – no mean feat considering his competition. He will be joined on the night by The Imposters; Steve Nieve, Pete Thomas and Davey Faragher. Tickets go on sale Monday December 17th at 9am.
June 27th 2013 sees ZZ TOP take to an Irish stage for the first time since 1985. Known for their strong bluegrass roots and humorous lyrical motifs, this band have gone from strength to strength since the release of their debut album, and are currently the only band to have survived four decades whilst maintaining all its original members. Tickets go on sale Friday December 14th at 9am. Tickets are priced at €35.00 – €55.00
Irish star and legend Christy Moore has announced that he will be making his record-breaking ninth appearance at Live at the Marquee on July 6th. He’s currently the only artist to have appeared at every Marquee since its conception in 2004. Tickets go on sale Friday December 14th at 9am. Tickets cost €35.00 – €45.00.
