Damien Dempsey in Vicar Street | Gig of the Week

There is a rake load of heavyweight homegrown talent playing this week, what with everyone making their way home for the Christmas. So it’s only right one of those should be our Gig of the Week. It’s not an easy task as they’re all a little bit whopper,  luckily we haven’t gone as far as to pick a name out of a Santa hat. It’s been decided that it’s gotta be the man himself Damien Dempsey. He plays both Friday and Saturday in Vicar Street. Tickets are still available and are €30.

Having sold out The O2, it’s no surprise The Coronas have sold out a couple of nights in The Olympia. They’re there tonight and tomorrow night with support from Gavin James.

Hudson Taylor play The Academy on Thursday. There are limited tickets for that and they’ll set you back €15. On the same night, around the corner and over the Liffey The Original Rudeboys have a sell out show in The Olympia Theatre.

Friday is crazy busy with sold out shows  ASIWYFA in The Button Factory. It was no surprise back in a May in a jam-packed Whelan’s that HAIM would be back to these shores soon.

The trio popped by the Phoenix Park in July as support for The Killers and now they are back again for a sold out gig in The Academy on Friday. That one is gonna be a lot of fun. And Le Galaxie are in The Olympia Theatre for a late gig. Exhausted already.
