It seems Today FM are really getting down with the cool kids and digging deeper to support initiatives around the Irish music scene. The last few weeks have seen the Paul McCloone show putting on live shows and broadcasting them. Today we see Today FM partner with AerTV for an Irish music initiative to showcase unsigned talent. It’s called ‘Back To Basics’.

AerTV already support Irish music by live streaming the Hard Working Class Heroes festival so you can tune in for live performances this year from the likes of A Dark Horse, Benny Smiles, Tandem Felix, Ginnels, Spies, Kool Thing, Forrests, Elaine Mai, Simon Bird, Girl Band, Come On Live Long, Ships, Nanu Nanu, Carried By Waves, Land Lovers, Autumn Owls, Sleep Thieves and Last Days of 1984.

With ‘Back To Basics’ a new video will be made available each week, putting the focus entirely on unsigned acts and integrating social network sharing tools to make it easy to share the videos of the bands you find. The have launched with 12 new Irish band videos and a new video will be released every week until 2013. The launch bands include Eric McGrath, Orla Gartland, Ruairí DeLeastar, Bairbre Munnis, Delorentos, Radio Room, Hudson Taylor, Slow Skies, Bouts, The Rusty Fixtures, Pearse McGloughlin and Little Xs for Eyes.
