News in Briefs : Orbital, Flapes & The Pogues
Well we must apologise for a day or 2 without updates, some small technically issue’s were preventing us from posting, they are now sorted, so its time for a quick catchup on any major news we may have had pass by.
First up, Orbital have added a second date to the one previously announced Friday 13th gig in Tripod they will now follow it up with another gig on the 14th, Tickets are on sale NOW! with tickets priced at €49.50 and €42.50.
Fight Like Apes have announced another gig in The Academy on December 18th but its a gig with twist, they will be putting a wrestling ring in the middle of the academy and performing as well as fighting as a 3 men 1 girl tag team with special guests from the wrestling world. Tickets are priced at €19.50 and are on sale NOW, State found this video of Fight Like Apes and Kid Kash in a bit of a battle from ringside to the ring. Classic (Video at bottom of news post).
Irish Rockers Ash have annouced they will be playing here twice in November, they plan on hitting The Button Factory on Nov 25th and Spring & Airbrake, Belfast on Nov 26th, Tickets for the Dublin gig are priced at €23, They also will be releasing 26 new songs digitally and on 7″ over the next 12 months, scrapping the concept of an album. The first single “True Love 1980″ is available from www.ash-official.com/store.
The Pogues will play a second date in dublin in december, they were all set to play Dec 4th and now will play the 5th too. Both gigs in The Olympia Theatre. Tickets on sale Now!.
90′s Irish band Sunbeat have re-released their old EP’s on the net on www.indiecater.com to add to their album from 94 which is on the site too. It Consists of 2 EP’s and lots of unreleased songs till now and costs just €4, sure your making money.
Pop Sensation Mika is to bring his “The Boy Who Knew Too Much Tour” to Ireland with visits to The Waterfront, Belfast Feb 13th 2010 and The Olympia, Dublin on Feb 15th 2010, Tickets costing £27.50 and €39.20 respectively.
Hadouken! are to pop into Dublin for a Dec 5th show in Tripod, Tickets cost €20 and are on sale now, They also have released a new 6 track EP.
James McMorrow is to pop over to The Sugar Club in Dublin on December 13th for a pre christmas show, Tickets only €13.50!!.
Sean Milar has just released a new EP, “Of The People, Part One” , available on http://www.doctormillar.com/

Pete Doherty’s irish stint scheduled for the 13th-15th have been postponed, Doherty was admitted to Swindon Hospital with exhaustion and breathing difficulties and is being held for observation. Tickets can be refunded or exchanged from original point of purchase, Green Spheres tickets will still be valid for the rescheduled date.

Wednesday 14th – The Academy, Dublin
Thursday 15th – Roisin Dubh, Galway.
and Finally, to complete our catchup in music news, Bryan Adams is all set to bring his live solo show to The Olympia Dublin (Jan 14th and 15th) Millenium Forum, Derry (Jan 16th), Waterfront, Belfast (Jan 17th), Royal Theatre, Castlebar (Jan 18th) and the INEC, Killarney (Jan 19th) -- Tickets for the show are €65.70 an £44 and go on sale this coming Thursday October 15th.
