BAND OF THE WEEK : Kevin on a Bike
Well here we are, band of the week some 2 months later, It would seem that festival season and holidays have a bad effect on us and as a small team these items got neglected as covering Oxegen and similar festival events took precedence and of course getting out of the country left this item last on the list of things to do. So we apologise for the delay, but were back and hopefully will have this properly weekly from now on as we seek more writers.
Kevin on a Bike are this weeks Band of the Week!, a title losing its meaning on a consistant basis but all the same, everyone enjoys a unrequested plug.
Kevin On a Bike are a Rock 4 piece from the Bleesington Area, its clear from listening to some of their songs that they are heavily influence by what feels to me a in between state between mettallica and motorhead type drumming and often guitar riffs, to The Atari’s and Thin Lizzy style Vocals,Lyrics and Solo’s. I hate pinning bands down into a sound ive previously heard before but i can instant hear an influence of these bands in the songs ive listened to.
In 2008 they recorded their debut E.P. “Cyclepath” which was released early 2009 at a launch night in Eamonn Dorans.
After a brief Hiatus (as only exams and project work can do to a band) they are back working on new material and organising gigs for the rest of the year.
