Band of the Week: Downhill
Downhill are a young punk band from Tallaght. Beginning around the summer 06, Downhill stayed in the underground Dublin scene for quite a bit. They released an EP in 2008 entitled “As Seen on TV” which was the first time I saw them in the Voodoo Lounge. The first thing that hits you seeing them live is the energy on stage that every good punk band needs. After seeing them for the first time i bought the EP straight away and have been following them ever since.
They have shared the stage with numerous well-known bands including: Winch House (UK), Out of sight (UK), Save your breath (UK) and The Wonder Years (U.S) as well as a little known band called The Delinquents!
Downhill are in
the All-Ireland final of the last ever Blast competition and are now recording an ep to be released in the summer 09 so be sure to keep an eye out!
