THE COURTEENERS

Following their showstopping Dublin performance at the beginning of the summer, Manchester’s most exciting new export are to play a one off show at The Academy on September 30th.

Having duly notched up their first Top 20 hit with ‘What Took You So Long’, and completed  their first UK sell-out tour – complete with obsessive fans, backstage mayhem and praise from a growing army of celebrity admirers -  the Courteeners seem destined to end 2008 peering down on the opposition from the top of end of year polls.

The single “No You Didn’t, No You Don’t” was released to widespread acclaim in June.

Now, on the back of the explosive release of their debut album, ST JUDE, it would appear that The Courteeners have the indie / rock world by the neck..
