Pop sorceress, iconic diva and multimedia fashionista Grace Jones will give Electric Picnic fans an exclusive sneak peak of her first album in over 2 decades when she performs at this year’s festival. Jones, who pioneered avant-garde pop, fashion and culture has been working with various purveyors of pop perfection and will release Hurricane in October.

Joan as Policewoman is no stranger to the music industry having played with such luminaries as Antony and the Johnsons, Rufus Wainwright, the Scissor Sisters and Nick Cave to name a few. Under her Policewoman moniker she has received acclaim for ”a voice so wonderous and moving that it makes everyone else’s seem ordinary and mundane”. Her music shimmers, torch-song-like, between categories.

Baltimore-based bedroom electronic pop musician Dan Deacon has garnered a reputation in the underground as an intense performer and classic showman. The table top full of pedals, sine wave generator, vocoder and casio blasting through the PA, joined by a makeshift light board, make his all out dance-til-you-drop performance a complete experience.

Booka Shade having performed at the inaugural Soundtrack Festival in Tripod, return to Ireland for their first Picnic appearance. These Berlin based producers and live act have been at the forefront of contemporary dance music ever since their classic singles Body Language (with M.A.N.D.Y.) and Mandarine Girl, together with the label they co-run, Get Physical. This electrohouse duo have just released their third studio album - “The Sun & The Neon Light”.

Stephanie Dosen, having toured with Massive Attack throughout the summer will play one of her only solo performances this year at the Picnic, her ethereal and delicate voice has been heard on TV shows thoughout the world such as Dawson’s Creek. Her latest album A Lily for the Spectre was released last year.
